Mock My Words
Rather, mark them. Mark my words. In January, we are having a meeting about the reunion.
Time: Saturday, January 7, 2 p.m.
Location: Slidell, Louisiana; probably in a church, that Presbyterian one right by our dear old school.
Prayer: That the Presbyterian god will forgive me for forgetting the name of that church.
Please come to the meeting and spill your opinions all over the place. I will post a reminder here after the holidays (OF COURSE) in case your plans resemble mine as far as killing brain cells. Besides, I have to ask for some help before I arrive that weekend because I'm in Chicago and I can't do the tasks I think we need done as soon as we get this ridiculous season out of the way.
Would anyone living in the hurricane-affected area like to write about what you've been through? Despite the apparent love I have for my own carefully crafted messages, I enjoy posting writings here from other people from '86. It doesn't have to include reminiscing about school days, and maybe our classmates who live elsewhere should read about your experiences. In my area, we are not getting enough news about the rebuilding work. Well, NPR seems to be obsessed with stories about Hispanic workers swarming New Orleans, but maybe it's just reflecting the kind of classist worries that spring forth during tough times.
Last week's senior portrait was Joe Bihlmeyer. Today's gratuitous photo comes from Grad Night: do you remember her?
