The Future's So Bright

Someday, Chris Bell, pictured here with his wife, Jolie, will tell his children stories from his school days. He'll talk about crouching behind the plate as a catcher in Tiger baseball. Perhaps his daughter, Paige, will say, "Okay, daddy. But how were you at soccer?"

Maybe his son, Peyton, will show the same aptitude for musical performance that his father did. And I'm not talking about Curly either: I remember Chris jumping on stage in the cafetorium to do the Bird as instructed by Morris Day and the Time. His arms did indeed resemble wings, the wings of a brave birdman who would lead his senior class as president and then go on to fight evildoers in Texas.

Our very own superhero has been keeping in touch via email and reading the blog, and if I don't pick on him too much, we'll see him and his whole family at the reunion on June 10.
