Where’s My Wife and Family?
I don’t mind telling you: I’m experiencing postreunion letdown since my return to Chicago. I knew I would, and it’s not really a problem except that it’s affecting my blogging. I have dozens of pictures but no text. My imagination is cowering and whimpering in the corner of my brain, flabby from underuse, neglected.
When I sorted through photos to give me ideas, I designed categories that aren’t at all creative even though they are authentic: “Adorable Couples,” “My Favorite Wives,” “What Were They Talking About Right Before This Picture Was Taken?” Here’s a picture that fits the first two. Every time I saw Regina Dicke after we were introduced, she greeted me with a big, “Hi, Kris!” Although I never got to talk to her as long as I wanted, I felt warm and welcome every time I saw her. I am now tempted to drop into their restaurant in Tennessee and invite myself to stay at their home. Doug won’t mind: look at how happy he is!
